Dear Executive,
*   Internet Explorer: Save Web Page(s) for Viewing Later   *

I had several positive responses to the last TechTIP about using IE, so decided to follow-up with another IE tip I use almost daily - saving Web Pages to view later.  I know that some of you may use a combination of steps to save a Web Page that you are viewing, including one of my earlier tips about using PrintScrn and storing the resultant 'screen grab' into a Word document.  The limitations of that method are: it requires several steps, you can only save as much of the Web Page as is visible on the screen, the file size is large and probably most importantly - you loose the ability to use any hyperlinks.  There's a better way.

From within Internet Explorer (ver 7.0) Files/Save As, and in the Save as type window, select "Web Archive, single file (*.mht).  Note, this will not span pages, but if the pages scrolls down off the screen and is very long, it will save it all.   This has been available for some time in IE, it isn't new in version 7.0.  I've been doing it so long I don't remember how far back the feature became available.

If anybody is interested in 'how-to' save many Web Pages, or an entire website, drop me a line and I may publish that 'how-to' in another TechTIP at a later date.
