Before Microsoft Office 2003, this was a non-trivial procedure which required including the appropriate PowerPoint files; i.e. PPT Viewer, EULA, and associated files required to play a PPT on a CD-ROM.  And writing a '.bat' file to autostart, and '.ini' file to autorun.  Not for the casual user...

Now Microsoft has automated all the steps, and those details are handled automatically, allowing you to focus on your presentation.  Open a presentation you would like to save to CD-ROM, and from the Main Menu select File and then Package for CD.  From there, just follow the prompts.  When finished, you should have a CD-ROM that will automatically start when inserted into a PC (autostart), and launch your presentation (autorun); even if the customer doesn't have PowerPoint on their PC.
