Excel provides the ability to have a title for the chart, and each axis, and labels for each axis.  But what if you want to put other variable information into the chart?  Like the salespersons name, category of equipment, or other user selectable variable information?  It can be done, and here's how.

Click the chart area, and then in the formula bar, type an equal sign (=).  Select the cell in the worksheet that contains the data or text you want displayed in your chart, then press ENTER.  The contents of the cell in the woksheet will now be linked, and displayed in your chart.  If the contents in the worksheet cell change, the graph will be updated.  Once the linked cell is in the graph, it can be formatted and positioned like a text box.
