*  How To: Carry your Internet Explorer (IE) Favorites with you   *

If you have occasion to use a computer other than your primary computer, you may have wished you had the favorite links from your primary computer, instead of having to look-up a URL you already had found before.  For Road Warriors that travel frequently and have to access many corporate, customer, or partner sites, this can be a big help.  Well, you can carry your entire list of favorites from your primary computer with you, and use them from any other computer, and we're going to tell you how.

From the Menu Bar in IE, select:
1. File/Import and Export [Next]
2. Export Favorites [Next]
3. Favorites [Next]
(It's important to select Favorites, which is the top folder, and will include all the sub-folders)
4. Export to a file or address
The default path and filename is usually something like this, C:\Documents and Settings\your_name\My Documents\bookmark.htm - you can leave that as it is, and select [Next]
5. [Finish]

The file bookmark.htm, now has a complete copy of all the favorites from your primary computer, and can be copied to your USB Flash Memory stick, which I am sure you already have.  So the next time you need your favorites, just click on the bookmark.htm file saved to your USB Flash Memory stick!

(It's a similar process with Netscape Navigator, from the Menu Bar in NN: Bookmarks/Manage Bookmarks/Tools/Export.)
