When you get ready to save your next PowerPoint presentation, try this. Save As, and in the Save as type window, scroll down and select PowerPoint Show (*pps). Your presentation will be saved with a pps file extension, instead of a ppt file extension.
Here are two handy uses of this elegant launch method:
One, You don't have to open PowerPoint first. If you send someone this pps file as an email attachment, as soon as they click on the file it will launch the presentation in the View Show mode.
Two, if you create a Shortcut from your pps file, and place it on your desktop, you can begin your customer presentation by just clicking the shortcut. Again, you don't have to go through opening PowerPoint first to begin your customer presentation in the View Show mode.
